History
Market Weighton was once served by the Beverley to York railway which was closed 27 November 1965. The Market Weighton Railway Station no longer exists but another located nearby, just North of the town and called Kiplingcoates, still stands. Some of the railway line is now part of the Wolds Way Walk.
A campaign to re-open the line (The Minsters’ Rail Campaign) is in progress, more can be found here: http://www.minstersrail.org.uk
